Coolanowle Organics is a small company in  County Laois, run from the same location as Coolnowle House - a country house & bed and breakfast with a strong emphasis on fine organic food. In  2004 we started selling organic meats produced from our own farm at farmers’ markets around Ireland. The owner, Jimmy Mulhall, and his son Eddie run the business with some part-time help. A custom built vehicle was purchased in late 2004. This vehicle enabled us to go to more markets and do more processing work and produce a wider range of products.

In 2006 Jimmy & Eddie attended butchery courses in Ashtown National Food Centre and Athlone DIT which were run by Laois Leader. We engaged the services of the National Food Centre to pursue a new product development course, again with help from Laois Leader. This course has been conducted by Paddy Ward and is ongoing. As a result we are now able to produce a number of new products, including our own homemade sausages, dry-cured bacon and ham, dry cured corned and spiced beef.

We supply a number of farmers markets across Ireland (pse click HERE for details) and also supply direct to restaurants and hotels,(eg Brooklodge Hotel in Macreddin village,Glendalough Fayre,The Gallic Kitchen and Stradbally Fayre)
